Our Team

Inky is the brainchild of Dave Baggett, who formed a private company in 2008 to “fix email,” an ambitious undertaking that has stymied many a top-ranked programmer. Prior to Inky, Baggett was a co-founder of ITA Software, an airfare search company that sold to Google in 2010 for $730 million. The Inky team, composed of veteran systems engineers and skilled programmers, has built Inky from the ground up to be the most secure and robust email and collaboration platform on the market. Inky's mascot, the octopus, is nature's multitasker.

Our Mission

Email is broken and Inky can fix it.

Think about it. Email is a big part of our lives. But it’s far from perfect. Email is how you communicate at work. Whether it’s a message from your boss or a flight confirmation, email is the go-to way to communicate. Email is also how you receive industry news, your shopping receipts, and package tracking links.

Unfortunately, important messages are often hard to find among everything else that’s crowding up your inbox today: social notifications, special offers from your favorite vendors, and the list goes on and on. Most people find themselves spending a lot more time on their email than they should.

Inky Makes Email Better

By letting email users add personal tags — like #confidential, #expenses, #taxes, #kidzschool, #projectname, and #customername — to automatic tags — like #subscription, #map, #social, and #event — Inky puts users in the driver’s seat. They can tag messages or senders and pick whichever view suits the task of the moment. For example, a custom view tagged #colleagues would show only mail from coworkers. Inky automatically tags messages with attributes like has:attachment, flagged, read, unread, replied, and unreplied and even offers suggested tags as the user types. With letter-at-a-time search, users can find important mail quickly and save a search as a fresh custom view.

With Inky, you won't ever have to move an email to a folder, and you can tag messages so that they can appear in multiple mailboxes. Inky comes preloaded with automatic message views, called mailboxes, for the unified inbox, unified sent, personal, subscriptions, social, and other useful groupings.

Organizations can achieve significant cost savings by downgrading existing Office 365 plans and adding Inky in place of the installed Outlook app. Switching costs are zero, since Inky operates cleanly with existing IMAP and Microsoft Exchange servers.

Addressing security concerns head-on, Inky offers best-in-class encryption and hygienic message handling that meets the most exacting corporate standards.

Inky is freemium software optimized for business. All users start with a 14-day free trial (no credit card required). During the trial period, users have full access to all features. Afterward, Inky remains free for users with GMail.com, iCloud, and Outlook.com accounts. Users with other types of accounts (e.g., Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, Google Apps, other IMAP) will need a paid subscription, which is offered at $5 per user per month. Enterprise pricing and custom solutions are also available.

Inky is available for download at inky.comthe iOS App Store, and the Google Play Store.
